Sarah Lucy made her dream come true launching a lavender farm in Oregon. But it wasn’t an obvious start. Sarah found out that up 70-percent of the lavender in the trade was mislabeled. So it was back to work to track down the true cultivars she wanted to grow.
Her French Fields lavender was hand-carried from France by Andy Van Hevelingen. ‘French Fields’ is a tight, compact bush with bright green foliage, and one of the earliest lavenders to bloom; typically in the early spring.
The fact that it is a continuous bloomer makes ‘French Fields’ an excellent choice for gardeners looking to harvest frequent fresh bunches throughout the season.
Thrives best in zones 5 through 10. Collection includes six plants.
Throughout my life, I have always loved getting my hands in the dirt. There is something spiritual about planting something and nurturing it until it comes to life.
I spent many summers on my family’s farm in Oklahoma as a child. The sense of community, the love of the farm lifestyle has always been something I wanted to be a part of as an adult.
